Behavioral health, coaching, groups & individual sessions · A nonprofit organization
A house you can come back to, on the days you need it.
Counseling, coaching, small groups, and individual sessions, held at set times each week and joined from wherever you are. Nothing here asks you to arrive already put together.
What's inside
Three kinds of support, one calendar.
People arrive needing different things, and what they need changes. You can add or set down a track without starting over somewhere new.
Clinical care
Licensed cliniciansCounseling and clinical support for substance use and the conditions that often travel with it, delivered under California licensure and supervision.
- Individual counseling sessions
- Clinical assessment and care planning
- Coordination with the providers you already have
- Additional clinical services launching soon
Coaching
Certified coachesNot therapy, and we keep the two distinct. Coaching is forward-looking work on the parts of life that recovery leaves room to rebuild.
- Weekly one-to-one sessions
- Work, money, and daily structure
- Relationships and boundaries
- Brief check-ins between sessions
Groups
Eight people, maximumThe part most people are nervous about and end up staying for. First names only, cameras on, nothing recorded. You can also have a one on one session with a coach or facilitator.
- Art hour — materials mailed to you
- Early recovery, weekday mornings
- Writing group
- Family and partners
- Movement and grounding
- One on one sessions with a coach or facilitator
The week
Care that keeps a rhythm.
Sessions repeat at the same hours, so the week holds a shape whether or not you're having a good one.
Individual sessions are scheduled around this, at times you choose. If you miss a group there's another the same week. Sessions aren't recorded, so you simply come to the next.
Starting
What the first week actually looks like.
The order matters, so this is the real sequence.
A twenty-minute call
With a person, not a form. They ask what's going on and tell you plainly whether this is the right place. Sometimes the answer is no — if you need detox or inpatient care, we'll say so and help you find it.
Clinical intake
An hour with a licensed clinician. History, current use, medications, safety. You leave with a written plan naming which sessions you're starting with and who your clinician is.
Your first group
Sooner than most people feel ready for, on purpose. You're welcome to keep your microphone off and only listen the first time.
Adjusting
Your clinician revisits the plan with you. Add coaching, change groups, move things around work. The schedule is meant to be edited.
Cost
You'll know the number before the first session.
We're a nonprofit, and we're currently finalizing our insurance partnerships. In the meantime, the honest answer to "what will it cost" is this: contact us, tell us your situation, and we'll tell you exactly what your options are before you commit to anything. The first call is free, and no one leaves it without a path forward, whether that's with us or somewhere we help you find.
Questions
Straight answers.
Do I have to be sober to start?
No. Most people aren't when they call. We'll ask honestly where you are so the plan matches the truth, and if you need medical detox first, we'll tell you and help arrange it.
Is coaching the same as therapy?
No, and we keep them separate deliberately. Coaches aren't licensed clinicians and don't diagnose or treat conditions. Coaching works on goals and daily life; therapy works on what sits underneath. Many people do both.
Who hears what I say in group?
The other members and the facilitator. Groups aren't recorded. Members agree to confidentiality, though no one can guarantee what another person does — so we say that plainly rather than promise otherwise.
Do I need any experience for the art group?
None. Materials are mailed to you, and nothing made in the hour is critiqued or shared outside it.
Where do you operate?
We're based in California, and clinical services are provided under California licensure and supervision. Coaching and groups are available more widely. The first call confirms what's available where you live.
