Online, every week
The Tendo Meeting
A twelve step study. We take the steps one at a time, in order, and work through them together over the course of a year. It runs online, it is free, and anyone can come.
You do not need to be a client here. You do not need to belong to a fellowship, or to have ever been to a meeting. You do not need to have decided anything about your drinking or your using.
Come with your camera off. Come and listen. Come to one step and not the next.
What a step study is
Slower than a meeting, and more specific.
A regular meeting moves wherever the room takes it. A step study stays on one thing until it is properly looked at.
One step at a time
Several weeks eachWe read the step, take it apart, and talk about what it actually asks of a person. Some steps take a fortnight. Some take a month and a half.
Reading, then talking
The hourSomeone reads a short passage. Then the room talks. People speak from their own experience rather than explaining the step to each other.
Join at any point
No sequence to catch up onYou are not behind if you arrive at step seven. People come in wherever they come in, and most go round more than once.
Nothing is required of you
Including speakingNo written work is collected, no sponsor is expected, and no one checks whether you did anything between sessions.
Who it is for
Any fellowship, or none.
People come from AA, from NA, from other fellowships, and from nowhere at all. Some have a sponsor and are working the steps elsewhere. Some have never set foot in a meeting and want to understand what the steps are before deciding anything.
Alcohol, drugs, prescription medication, or something you have not put a name to yet. The study does not sort people by substance and does not ask you to define yourself before you sit down.
If you are here because of someone else's drinking or using, our family programme, Kitchen Table, is the room for that.
What it is not
This is a study, not a fellowship meeting.
The Tendo Meeting is a Casa Tendo group. It is not an AA meeting, an NA meeting, or a meeting of any other fellowship, and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them.
It does not replace a meeting either. If you are in a fellowship, keep going. If you are not, this is a reasonable place to find out what the steps are without joining anything.
The steps have helped an enormous number of people and are not the only thing that works. We say that plainly here, and we say it in the room.
Anonymity
What happens here stays here.
Nothing is recorded
No recording, no screenshots, no transcripts. Anyone recording will be removed.
First names only
Change your display name to a first name or an initial before you join. Nobody will ask for more.
Who you see is not yours to repeat
You may recognise someone. Outside the study, you have never met them here.
No attendance is taken
No sign-in, no list, no record. Your clinician is not told whether you come. If you want to talk about it in a session, that is your choice to make.
Joining
Email once, and the link is yours.
The joining link is not published here, so that it is not sitting on a public page where anyone might find it. Email us and it comes back to you. Same link every week, so you never have to ask twice. We do not add you to a mailing list and we will not follow up.
A phone or a laptop is enough, and you can dial in by phone if video is not possible. Headphones help if you share a home.
